Get Started with PikeRide

 Colorado College Resources

The 2024 - 2025 Membership

All Colorado College students, staff, and faculty get 30 minutes of free ride time each day with no unlock fees. Create an account in the PikeRide app using your @coloradocollege.edu email address to activate your 30-minute membership. Once you have validated your Colorado College email address, please allow up to two hours before riding.

Ride time exceeding 30 minutes within a single day will be charged at the standard 25 cents per minute. For those with a greater need for our system, we’ve worked to make a discounted 90-minute membership available. The funds from these upgraded memberships will help our nonprofit’s ability to serve Colorado College’s use of our system.

Discounted Annual Membership

We are offering a discounted upgrade option exclusive to Colorado College. This membership provides 90 minutes of ride time per day until August of 2025 with no unlock fees.

Discount Offer: Purchase a 90-minute membership, typically $165 annually, for $99. To purchase this option, navigate to the “Coupons & Credits” section in the app menu and enter the code CCUPGRADE to be taken to the purchase screen.

Transportation is a key to opportunity, and we're committed to making it accessible to all through our WeRide program. If you’re receiving financial aid through Colorado College, you may be eligible for our reduced-cost annual membership program. Explore your options with the Colorado College Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment.

 Warnings and Fines

As a nonprofit bike share, our mission is to provide reliable and affordable public transportation for everyone and we ask all riders to use our ebikes responsibly. Proper usage not only ensures that the ebikes maintain their quality for the next rider, but it also helps us continue offering this valuable service to the community. By following the guidelines, you can avoid warnings, fines, and potential account suspension, while supporting our goal of making transportation accessible to all.

Taking an End Trip Photo

The most common warnings and fines result from either improperly securing an ebike or from taking a poor end trip photo. These violations can be easily avoided by ensuring you have done the following steps and captured all elements in your end trip photo:

  1. Wrap the cable around a rack or post

  2. Insert the cable loop in the rear wheel lock.

  3. Slide the lock tab down to close the lock, ensuring the cable loop is secured.

For more examples, see our End Trip Photo page.

Parking Guidelines

  • All ebikes parked on campus must be parked at a PikeRide station.

  • eBikes must be properly locked and secured to a rack or post with the cable at the end of your trip.

  • Bikes must always be publicly accessible and cannot be parked on private property or indoors.

  • Personal bike locks are prohibited to ensure ebikes remain publicly accessible.

  • Locking and securing PikeRides to each other or another bike is prohibited.

  • Please use the kickstand instead of leaning the bike on a rack.

  • Riders are required to capture an End Trip Photo showing all three elements at the end of every trip:

    1. A clear view of the cable secured around a rack or post

    2. The rear wheel lock

    3. The cable loop secured in the wheel lock

  • Riders must complete the end trip process in the app to fully end each trip. Parking the bike without ending the trip will result in a long trip that continues to run, even if the bike has been properly locked and secured. To avoid being charged for minutes while the bike is not in use, and to ensure the unused bike is available for other riders, please complete the end trip process. If any issues are encountered while ending your trip, please contact us immediately so we can rectify the situation and ensure you are not charged.
