End Trip Photos

To ensure the security and proper use of our ebikes, riders are required to submit a clear end trip photo through our app at the end of each ride.

This photo serves as confirmation that the bike has been correctly locked and secured to a rack or post. By providing a clear end trip photo, we can promptly address any issues, maintain the integrity of our ebike sharing system, and ensure that bikes are available and ready for the next rider. Your cooperation in submitting end trip photos helps us keep our community safe and our bikes in optimal condition.

Make sure to include all three of the following elements in your photo:

  1. A clear view of the cable secured around a rack or post

  2. The rear wheel lock

  3. The cable loop secured in the wheel lock

Photos should be taken from behind the rear wheel of the bike to ensure all three elements are visible.

Please refer to our examples of a great end trip photo, versus a not so great end trip photo. Taking a proper end trip photo helps us maintain our electric bike fleet efficiently, while keeping you from receiving warnings and fines from poor end trip photos.

Great End Trip Photo

All elements are clearly visible:

  1. Cable around rack

  2. Rear wheel lock

  3. Cable loop inside wheel lock

Poor End Trip Photo

While we can see the bike at a rack, we cannot see any of the 3 required elements. This photo will result in a staff member visiting the bike to confirm that it is properly secured due to the lack of clarity in the photo.

Other Examples of Poor End Trip Photos

This photo does not include any of the three required elements. Please take photos from behind the rear wheel.

The cable is not wrapped around a rack or post. Though the cable loop has been secured in the lock, bikes must be secured to a rack or post.

The cable loop has not been secured in the lock, seen by the free-hanging cable loop. Please slide the lock bar through the cable loop after every trip.

When we receive a photo that does not show that the bike has been secured, we must use staff resources to physically find the bike and check that it is properly locked to avoid the bike being vandalized or stolen.

As a non-profit, stolen and damaged bikes greatly impact our ability to perform our mission of providing people with public transportation. Thank you for using PikeRide and we hope to see your amazing end trip photos from future rides!
